Polling shows anti-war rallies reflect public opinion
A leading pollster says the size of anti-war demonstrations around the nation reflectsthe feelings of most Australians.
Newspoll says the majority of Australians have been opposed to war in Iraq for thepast six months.
But Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD maintains most people are yet to make up their minds about war.
Newspoll managing director SOL LEBOVIC has told ABC radio that public opposition towar without United Nations backing has been constant for six months.
Meanwhile, Roy Morgan Research Group executive chairman GARY MORGAN says Labor is benefitingfrom the anti-war sentiment.
He says the group's latest poll puts the Labor Party in front with 52.5 percentagepoints to the Liberals' 47.5.
